Peter Thimmesch provides
our clients with trusted advice on emerging markets and focuses in on
leveragable concepts to enable scalability to ensure a competitive
edge. He is recognized as a proven expert and innovator in Internet
Protocol based communications architecture and technologies, as well
as an established privacy and security specialist.
As the firm's General
Partner, he is often sought out to provide strategic direction to
assist in developing large initiatives which require unique
perspectives. Recent projects include being retained by the United
States Government's Millennium Challenge Corporation to provide
technical due diligence for a country's request for economic
assistance to upgrade the country's Information and Communications
Technology infrastructure as well as advising the Navy Marine Corps
Intranet's Program Office on directing their prime vendor to
select emerging technologies which would leverage their
multi-billion dollar investment.
Prior experience includes
Chief Executive Officer of recently acquired Secure Software, which
provided leading application security auditing services and software
to its customers, Managing Director for Pseuds.org a subsidiary of
Opion, Inc., which protects a consumer's identity, privacy and
reputation both on-line and off-line which was founded by David
Holtzman, the former Chief Technology Officer of Network Solutions as
well providing strategic advice and assistance to Sean Parker in the
founding of Plaxo.
Additionally, Mr.
Thimmesch served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix
based Internet directory services company, visitalk.com, which he
founded in 1998 to provide free Internet voice-and-video
communications. He created the underlying architecture and design for
Personal Address Resolution for IP Networks or Peer-to-Peer network
design as it is known currently, which now offers its global service
to over 4.5 million members in 239 countries.
Previously, he was Chief
Executive Officer of Interactive Multimedia Communications
Corporation where he was responsible for the design, implementation
and support of IP & ISDN network multimedia communications
products as well as creating, deploying and supporting communications
networks supporting voice, video and data for Fortune 100 companies.
A lauded visionary in the
field of Internet architecture and Enterprise Information Technology
strategies, Mr. Thimmesch has been a featured speaker at a number of
international conferences such as Internet Summit, ETRE and Internet
Expo. Additionally, he has been featured in major publications such
as Red Herring, Wall Street Journal (profiled in the weekly column
"Under the Radar"), Harvard Business Review, Forbes and
Business Week as well as numerous daily newspapers.
Due to his understanding
of the nuances of policy cycles and the ripple effects upon society
he is often sought out by political leaders for advice.
Mr. Thimmesch is a member of Cisco Systems Technical Advisory Board.
